After a rough loss against Harker, the Paly girls varsity basketball team hoped to redeem themselves in their recent matchup against Capuchino. However, despite their best efforts, Paly struggled to keep up with Capuchino’s strong gameplay, and ended up suffering a 44-22 defeat.
Reflecting on the game, Elif Dogan (’27) remarked, “It was a tough game; they were a really good team, and I don’t think we were as prepared as we should have been.” This sentiment was echoed by Eliana Friedman (’24), who added, “I think the team played pretty well, we just failed to finish our opportunities when they most mastered. We still have a lot to work on, but I think it was a fair effort from us against a solid opponent.”
Throughout the game, Paly faced challenges in both offense and defense, struggling to score against Cappuchino’s strong opposition. Despite their efforts, Paly was unable to close the scoring gap, leading to a significant point difference by the end of the game.
As they continue their season, the Paly girls recognize the need to improve their preparedness and execution. With a positive outlook, the team is determined to learn from this experience and work towards a stronger performance in future games.
