Due to a lacrosse obligation from four to six, I was standing in the rain instead of watching the first two games yesterday. As I sneakily checked the scores on my phone (unbeknownst to Coach “Ralph Diesel”), I was dismayed to see that BYU had been knocked off by Florida in OT. That derailed my southeast bracket, as I had BYU going to the final four. Jimmer has nothing to be ashamed of though, he can still jump like four feet in the air.
Kemba Walker put up 36 like it was no big deal, and bounced SDSU 74-67. Butler worked magic yesterday, but they didn’t need any last second heroics as they rolled Wisconsin 61-54. I was glued to the Arizona vs. Duke game, so I didn’t watch as much of the Butler game as I would have liked to, but I would be a little nervous if I were Florida going into tomorrow’s game; Butler is on fire. Don’t make plans for 4:30 tomorrow, because what you should be doing is watching the madness.
I kept the TV locked on the Arizona vs. Duke game last night, and for good reason. Anyone who tuned in got to see “MoMo” Jones and Derrick Williams dismantle the hyped Duke defense in a second half offensive explosion. The vicious slams and frosty three-pointers that the Wildcats were dropping were emphasized by the explosion of crowd noise you could hear after every Arizona bucket. The rousing chants of “U OF A!!!” could be heard throughout the entire second half, as the No. 1 seed in the West region was eradicated from the tourney.
The excitement continues tonight…
My predictions:
Kansas over Richmond
VCU over Florida State
Marquette over UNC
Ohio State over Kentucky
Have a good Friday, and try to ignore the urge to turn on a certain Rebecca Black song…
