Boys’ cross-country placed eighth at the Lowell Invitational in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on Saturday, Sept. 15.
The course was 2.93 miles; 1200 meters longer than the Gunn alumni meet.
“It was our first longer race, so it was a learning experience,” captain Kevin Lavelle (‘13) said.
Paly’s top finishers were Ben Hawthorne (‘13) in 35th place with a time of 16:27 minutes and Nate Cook (‘15), who finished close behind in 38th place with a time of 16:29 minutes. Samuel Mignot (‘14), Sean Keegan (‘14), and Ben May (‘13) rounded out the scoring for Paly.
Captain Kevin Lavelle (‘13) was pleased with the team’s performances.
“Everyone did really well,” Lavelle. “There is always stuff to improve upon, but now we have a more definite team.”
The team’s next race is a league competition at Central Park in Santa Clara on Sept. 25.
