Chapter 11: Fake Leagues or Feagues
After encountering a petrifying trade from another league, the Gurus want to address the issue of noncompetitive other leagues. The trade, which was T.Y. Hilton for a bag of chips, is an abomination to the fantasy sports industry. It raises the point that the Gurus want to make: if you are in a similar league, get yourself out of it. It is staining you of a bad fantasy reputation and is taking all the fun out of fantasy sports. Yes, T. Woon, we are calling you out.

Love/Hate List
Steven Marinkovich
Love: Danny Amendola – With Julian Edelman out for the foreseeable future, Amendola has an opportunity to step up in his absence and perform well. A home matchup against the Bills shouldn’t stop him from putting up good numbers. A high-volume pass catcher, Amendola could go off this week.
Hate: A.J. Green – Overall, Green is having a very disappointing season. The Bengals travel to the desert this week, setting up a matchup between Green and one of the best cornerbacks in the league, Patrick Peterson. Green will continue his struggles this week and be held to less than five fantasy points.
Ben Cleasby
Love: T.J. Yeldon – The Titans defense sucks, and Yeldon plays the Titans, so he’s golden. Though questionable this week, reports say that Yeldon is most likely going to play tonight. Yeldon has been slowly progressing this year and it wouldn’t be a surprise if this is his breakout week. I say Yeldon will at least throw down a 10.
Hate: Jordan Reed – Reed has been having a nice year when healthy, with an average of eight points per week. For a tight end that isn’t Gronkowski, that’s pretty good. However, Carolina is having a great year continuing to be undefeated and holding up a great defense. I’d expect Reed to put up below his average of eight points.
Ethan Stern
Love: Davante Adams – Davante will hold it down for Paly and help my boy Aaron Rodgers this week. Against a faulty Viking Defense, the 2010 state champion will go HAM and put up some crooked numbers. I personally forecast Davante to put up 15 this week.
Hate: Cam Newton – Or should I say Scam Newton. Lately, he has been tearing it up on the field, dabbin’ on fools left and right. But his demolition of the league has come to an end against a sneaky Redskins defense. I’m not gonna lie, this is a hefty deep sleeper and it’s hard not to play the SuperCam. I forecast a measly 11 this week for Cam.
Peter Snodgrass
Love: Allen Robinson– Superman has done nothing but impress this year. Against a weak Titan secondary, look for Robinson to have a huge week.
Hate: Randall Cobb – At Minnesota against Anthony Barr, the touted linebacker from UCLA, Cobb will be split into pieces of egg, bacon, chicken, avocado, tomato and cheese (the many ingredients of a Cobb Salad).
Jamie Cullen
Love: Charcandrick West – Charcandrick has been going off since stepping into the lineup for Jamaal Charles. After torching the Broncos top ranked defense last week for 27 points, Charcandrick should have no trouble with the Chargers weak run defense.
Hate: Giovani Bernard – Gio has a tough matchup this week facing the Cardinals strong run defense. Still splitting carries with Jeremy Hill, Gio won’t get the goal line work either, so he’ll need a lot of receiving yards or a lucky touchdown to have a good day.
Deep Sleeper of the Week
Jay Ajayi – The Boise State product has been putting up decent outputs the last few weeks. His recent stretch is the perfect build up to a fleece week. Ajayi could unseat Lamar Miller this week and put up double digits.
Bold Prediction of the Week – Johnny Manziel to put up 25+ fantasy points
The Gurus love them some Johnny Football. Now the starter for the rest of the season, Manziel has his chance. Will he make it or break it? Without a single doubt in any of our minds, Johnny Pigskin will make it and go off.
