The Paly girls basketball team suffered their first loss in 20 games against rival Los Gatos Wildcats on Sunday, with a final score of 55-31. 

The Vikings were still only trailing by four points at the half, thanks to some key three pointers from junior guard Kaella Peters. It wasn’t until the fourth quarter where the Wildcats really pulled away, outscoring the Vikings 21-6.

“We came into the game knowing Gatos was going to challenge us,” junior forward Caroline Mostofizadeh said. “Although it was unfortunate to lose, if anything it motivated us more for the upcoming games in the postseason.”

With the regular season coming to an end and this being their only league loss thus far, the team has unofficially secured the league title.

Before shifting their focus to the postseason, the Vikings have one more regular season game Tuesday night against Los Altos, a team they have already defeated this season.
