Last Wednesday, October 18th, the Paly girls field hockey team faced off against Lynbrook and due to their hard work and effective communication, the Vikings finished on top with a score of 2-0.
“We have gotten into our groove, especially after our last few games, we have clicked,” Senior Rebecca Fakatou said.
The Vikings secured the win early on scoring both goals in the first half of the game. The team showcased their enhanced efficiency when it came to handling the ball.
“It was nice having the opportunity to prove ourselves, Lynbrook is a good team so it was advantageous,” Senior Aspen Stitt said.
The girls spent the second half of the game defending their lead.
“Working on our stick skills and defense was nice, especially in such a competitive environment,” Senior Ella Bishop said.
The team’s last regular game of the season will be later this week against Homestead for the girls senior night.
“We really hope to win, we have had such a great season so far, it would be really nice to finish off with a win!” Senior Aspen Stitt said.
With the team’s momentum rolling strong the girl’s field hockey team is looking at a successful finish to their season and maybe some postseason
