Yesterday, Wednesday Janaury 3rd under the lights at the Peery Family Center Paly’s Girl’s Basketball team fought a devastating loss to Homestead with a score of 56-17.
“Homestead has brought us the heat in the past. We really wanted to come out on top so the loss was hard. Sophomore Camryn Ogawa said.
In the beginning of the game, Paly started strong with Sophomore Amalia Tormalas scoring a couple baskets.
“We were playing really well and communicating really well. We just need to work on our ball handling, in order for us to actually score against a team like Homestead” Freshman Elena Salvatierra said.
The second half was when the team lost sight of their goals and lost control of their momentum letting over 30 points to score.
“We are in the midst of our regular season lineup. We definitely have some solid communication and effort from all our teammates. I just want to see it represented on the scoreboard.” Freshman Elena Salvatierra said.
Overall, the girls played intensely, worked hard in pressure plays, and ultimately had to work on their offense and scoring to have a chance against a team like Homestead in the future.
