After a unique and challenging season, the Paly softball season comes to an end. With a .500 league record of 6-6 the girls were able to overcome some intense losses early in the season with late season wins.
“After losing an insane number of players this year I think we gave it our all and were able to pull through and have some amazing games.” Senior Anabelen Yanez said.
The girls started off with a few hard games against non league teams.
“Those really hard first few games definitely prepared us for a higher level of competition than we were used to and eventually we were able to play closer to that level after the first few games.” freshman Fulton said. The girls later were able to train at this level and for their first few games were able to put up good fights against some games that were expected to be losses for the girls.
Gunn was always a blowout game for the girls but this tear they were able to make the games competitive which was their goal for the season.
“Overall I am very happy with how our team was able to pull together to ultimately have a great season and I am so excited for the next one.” freshman laila explained.
The girls ended their season with positive spirits and a great sense of the game of softball, athleticism, and sportsmanship.
