The Paly girl’s water polo team was able to pull away with their second win of the season against Menlo Atherton. However, it seemed that this win was more expected than Tuesdays.
“MA isn’t historically the best team so expectations were pretty high in terms of securing the win,” said Junoir Fallon Porter (’26).
The girls offense was the star of the game since they were able to successfully breach Menlo Athroton’s defense. “offense and defense worked well together to secure the win, especially the offense” said junior Fallon Porter (’26).
Over all it seemed that the game started rather slow, the reaction time of the girls wasn’t as sharp as it normal is. However, as the game progressed the speed of play started to improve. “It took a few tries to get our defense down but eventually it got better,” said junior Fallon Porter (’26).
Overall the increase in intensity from the girls resulted in a faster pace game which was all Paly needed to take out Menlo Athrotin.
