In their first league game of the season, the Paly girls volleyball team swept Mountain View on Tuesday with a score of 3-0.
“Overall I think we started a little slow and the game was pretty tight at the beginning,” senior Sophie Pan said. “But then we picked it up by cleaning up mistakes and applying pressure from the service line.
Coming off many wins, the team had lots of confidence as they have only two losses on the season so far.
“Are record so far this year is pretty good and we all hope to keep it that way.” junior Marley Shumaker said.
During the game, Paly seemed to have most of the control. They acted very calm even when they lost a point and didn’t seemed to lose confidence at any point during the game. Even though the team did end up sweeping Mountain View, there are still many things to take away from the game.
“I felt that although we did play well, we definitely could have had a little better communication and better fundamentals,” junior Reese Japic said. “That being said, we still played well and got another good win.”
The team looks to keep up the hot streak and keep playing as a team. As they enter in to league play, they know that these games are more meaningful and will affect their league standings.
“I don’t think we should go into these games thinking any differently,” Pan said. “We just need to keep doing what we’re doing and I think we’ll be good.”
