This week Palo Alto Girls Varsity faced the Los Altos Girls Varsity in an intense matchup. This Season, Los Altos has been doing considerably well, maintaining its reputation as one of the better Varsity Girl’s Soccer Teams. Thus nerves were high leading into this game
Junior Reyes Aronson (‘26) said “We all were nervous knowing that the last Los Altos was good and we knew that we needed to play well if we wanted to get a good result”
With that in mind, the girls played hard and managed to hold their end throughout the whole game, and although the final score did result in a tie, the Paly girls were able to maintain a strong defense, allowing the girls to maintain dominance. After the game, Junoir Areet Rao reflected that not only did the girl’s defense do “really well” but the girls were also creating a lot of opportunities to score.
Rao continued to explain that there were many “one V ones with the Los Alto’s goalie” but ultimately the girls “weren’t able to finish those opportunities” leading to the final score.
Additionally, junior Reyes Aronson (‘26) added that the Paly girls “matched them well and were the better team last night with the majority possession.” Aronson also stated that Although the girls did not take home the win the girls “were still happy with a tie.”
Overall this was a very intense game on both sides which made it extremely compelling to watch. We hope to see you out there at the next game against Mountain View on the 29th!
