Paly varsity girls soccer crushed Mountain View today 2-0, placing them 2nd in the SCVAL De Anza league and contributing to their 4-2-1 league record so far this season.
Junior forward, Areet Rao was very impressed with the teams chemistry and ability to find their open teammates, which she believes sealed-the-deal for the team tonight.
“I think we played really well, and we won 2-0,” Rao said. “The midfielders did a really good job, especially on the first goal when Ella [Hwang ’25] shot the ball, it hit the crossbar, and Cassie [Gracon ’26] was able to finish it. Then on the 2nd goal, Kaitlyn [Lowry ’25] set up a perfect through ball for Devin [Teper ’27] to score. The reason we won is mainly because of the midfielders, since they’ve been working really hard.”
One player Rao credited some of the team’s success to in this match-up was Hwang.
“We had a really great game because the team worked really hard,” Hwang said. “We had possession most of the time and we created a lot of chances for ourselves, so I am proud of the team for the win!”
The teams next home game is February 5th, so come out to support your Vikings!
