Paly Girls Basketball beat the Cupertino Pioneers on February 14.
The Vikings won by 10, with the final being 35-25.
Going into the game, the team knew they had to play extra hard because a loss would mean the Vikings would not qualify for the playoffs.
“We all knew the stakes were high because we needed to win that game to qualify for the playoffs so we were playing really hard,” sophomore Ella Hoy said.
The Vikings came out of the half with a strong defensive performance and an explosion offensively.
“We played really good defense and scored a lot of baskets in the third quarter to give us a comfortable lead,” Hoy continued.
With the win, the Vikings were able to avenge their 11 point loss three weeks prior.
“It was super exciting to get this win because we lost to them previously.
Plus, winning that game meant we made the playoffs,” Hoy finished.
With another win under their belt, the Vikings look ahead toward the playoffs.
