On Thursday, the girls played their first game against Saint Francis High School. Saint Francis has a reputation for being an incredibly aggressive, strong team. They knew that this would be a tough game, but nevertheless, the girls walked in high spirits. “Although we lost, it was good to play with this team again,” said Junoir Meera Singh (’26)
“I think we came with a strong intensity, but given that it’s the start of the season, I don’t think our stamina was on par with our drive.” Junoir Keerthi Rajh (’26) said.
Throughout the game it was evident that the team had not played together in a long time. Despite pre-season practices, communication and overall teamwork were lacking on the field.
The girls have a strong attack and agile middies, however, the defense did not seem to be as mobile and was consistently losing on ground balls.
“Overall, I’m proud of how we started the season, this was a really tough team and definitely not an ideal first game, but we still persevered and made it out with them only having a 10-point lead,” Junior Meera Signh (‘26).
