The Paly girls water polo team suffered a tough loss to the Harker eagles, losing 10-9 at home on Thursday.

Paly lead 7-2 at the half after a strong 2 quarters lead by junior Samantha Lee scoring three of their first seven goals.

The Vikings went on to have a scoreless quarter, with Harker coming back to tie the game 7-7. Despite the efforts of Paly’s players, they were unable to convert on offense and allowed Harker back into a winning position.

With the momentum on Harker’s side going into the fourth quarter, Paly needed a stop to harkers momentum, and quickly scored a goal to break their streak.

With Harker leading in the last minutes of the game, the Vikings were desperate for goals, sending players to offense early to look for the equalizer.

Paly’s efforts to hold off Harker didn’t last though the end of the game, and although a nail-biting end, they ended up taking a devastating loss only falling short one point to the Eagles.

“It was definitely a tough loss but now we just need to build on it and continue to grow as a team,” Senior Captain Julia Ragno said.

Paly Looks to take on Los Gatos away on Tuesday, a tough game to increase their win count in the SCVAL league.
