What were some of the biggest changes here?
“Probably friends, the weather…that’s pretty much it.”
What were your expectations of what California would be like? Have you been in California before?
“No, I’ve never been to California before. I thought it was going to be more celebrities everywhere, but most people are down to earth.”
How is your experience playing football here different?
“Different offenses and defenses but it’s better all around.”
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
“No, not really I just try and not think about the game ’til pre-game so I don’t get too nervous.”
Are there any football traditions at your old school that you’d like to see here? What was it like at your old school playing football, was it a big deal?
“It was kind of a big deal, it’s a lot bigger here because it’s a bigger town but back home it’s a smaller town but everyone got behind it, and from what I hear [about what] sports [are] like here, the whole town gets behind it [too], so it will be fun.”
And what was your first impression of the Paly football team?
“Everybody was real nice. They were supportive. If I didn’t know the plays they would help me out, so all around it was good.”
You also do track, so do you like football or track better?
“I like football better. I think the environment is just a lot more like a team environment, track is more individualized, so I like the team environment better.”
Who are some of your favorite athletes?
“Probably Frank Gore or DeSean Jackson.”
What was the best moment in your high school football career so far?
“Back home, probably beating our hometown rivals.”
Were there any tough moments?
“Yeah, when I had surgery freshman year on my shoulder.”
Is it hard coming on to the team as a new Paly student?
“It was at first, but I’m now at home so I’m more used to it.”
