Paly baseball handily defeated Cupertino 10-0 at Palo Alto High School today.
The Vikings started off the game hot, scoring a quick three runs in the first inning. The team never looked back from there.
Senior Vinnie Braga was phenomenal on the mound pitching a shut-out 6 innings adding seven strikeouts.
“Defensively it was easy to make plays because our pitchers got a lot of weak contact,” senior Zach Thom said.
The offense was rolling today for the Vikings as well, totaling 12 hits as well as a two run home run by Thom. Sophomore Carter Bader added three hits of his own.
“We were facing a slower pitcher than usual but we stuck to our approach and executed with runners in scoring position,” Thom said.
Paly moves to 7-10 overall and 2-3 in league. They face off against Cupertino again on the road Friday where they look to get the season sweep of the Pioneers.
“We will keep the positive energy and keep playing up to our standard for the rest of the season,” Thom said.
