Paly boys Water Polo had an intense matchup against their local rivals, The Gunn Titans.

“The game started off quickly and we were ready to go,” Senior Ian Johnson said.

This stands were electric, filled with Paly students and families cheering the team on.

The team fought strong through the first quarter, ending in a tie of 1-1.

“Our individual mentality was breaking apart going into the second quarter,” Senior captain Julien Chow said. “But after that, we started to bring ourselves back up”

As halftime approached, the Vikings were down 2-4. Going into the third quarter, the Vikings put up a strong fight with their impressive offensive and defensive plays, leading the score to 5-6.

In the last 30 seconds of the game, Senior captain Julien Chow scored, making the final score 6-7.

“We played a solid game and we will work on our skills and mentality for our next game against Gunn,” Senior Ian Johnson said.
