The Paly girls golf team narrowly defeated Saratoga 237-244. The conditions they played in at their home course went against them, making it harder to score lower.

“My shots were a lot shorter because of the wind,” Junior Angelina Chen said.

Despite the advantage they usually had become a disadvantage, they still pulled the victory off even though in their eyes, it was not looking so good.

“[I was] kind of surprised [that we won]. I thought that we were losing,” Chen said.

Alexa Pineda (’24) shot a 42, while the rest followed along as Allyson Lee (’23), Chen, and Meigan Lew (’23) all kept their scores under 50, respectively shooting 45, 47, and 49. Sophomores Annika Nair and Lisa Chen follow the upperclassmen as they both respectively shot 54 and 56.

Girls golf resumes their play after a deserved weekend break as they play Monte Vista on Tuesday at their home course.

“I look forward to playing them again,” Chen said.
