This past Friday and Saturday, Paly wrestling competed in the Lou Bronzan Invitational in Brentwood. Overall, the team placed eight out of 76 schools.
Despite being down in his fifth match, sophomore Brian Miller came back and won 4-3. Miller finished 5-2, earning a fifth place finish for 120 lbs. Additionally, sophomore James Otuhiva placed third for 113 lbs.
“It was great to see the younger guys [Brian and James] pull off some tough wins against some tough opponents”, senior Caiden Soltesz said.
Soltesz went 6-1 on Friday, and on Saturday placed third for 165 lbs. He currently has 14 wins on the season, with 13 by pin.
“As a whole the team did very well and I’m excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for us”, Soltesz said.
The team has a meet at Cupertino High School on January 6, and a meet at Los Gatos on January 11.
