Paly girls golf faced the Mountain View Spartans on October 23rd in a down to the wire game.
The Vikings ended up losing the close one by three strokes, 250 to 253.
Even though it was a tough loss, the Vikings ended with a winning season, going 6-4, and the team was excited by that.
“I think the game went well, and everyone played their best. For our final game of the season, we were hoping to win, but we unfortunately lost,” Junior Jessica Wong said.
The Vikings started off strong, taking an early lead over number one ranked Spartans and maintaining that lead right up until the end of the game.
“We were up against the best team in our league, and though we tried our best, we ended up losing by 3,” Junior Jessica Wong continued.
The team will look to put this game behind them and look ahead to next season to improve.
“I don’t think it sets a precedent for our new season, however for our next season we know what our team as a whole has to improve on, and therefore we should have a stronger team next season,”Junior Jessica Wong finished.
The Vikings finish the season 6-4.
