Paly flag football beat MacDonald in a dominant win at home on Monday, 10/6. The final score was 29-0 in favor of the Vikings.
The team aimed to build on its 12-0 record for the season by securing dominant wins to send a message and remain undefeated. The team shines defensively, allowing under six points a game to opponents this season. “Our defense played hard all game, stopping the other team from scoring all game,” sophomore Yaby Ketema said. “Although we played so well defensively, we can’t forget how good our offense was, too. Our offense was able to consistently score after defensive stops.”
Defensively, the Vikings kept up the same level of pressure as they did in their shutout victory the last time the two teams faced, where the Vikings won with a final score of 48-0. MacDonald was shut out again thanks to a stellar four-interception performance from Harmoni Jackson, including on pick-six nearing the end of the first half. After a couple of injuries to some of MacDonald’s players, they were forced to forfeit as they did not have enough players to finish the game, ending in a Viking victory.
The Vikings look to keep the momentum of their defense while continuing to effectively score as they look ahead to another rematch with MacDonald.
