Last season, the Paly girl’s volleyball team ended their season in the playoffs with a 3-1 loss against Rocklin. Their overall season record was 27-6 and an undefeated 12 – 0 in league play.
The team worked incredibly hard throughout the season placing first in the De Anza League. Senior captains, Reine Schultz and Kylie Yen were two major factors contributing to the team’s leadership and success.
“Last year we lost six seniors, two of them being captains,” junior Marley Shumaker said. “I think that this year will definitely be a tough spot to fill, our other seniors carried a lot of energy and team spirit which will be missed.”
Coming into the new school year, the team has lost 6 players, but with new talent coming in the team is still looking very strong.
“We are coming into the year with lots of confidence,” senior Sophie Pan said. “And we feel excited especially since most of the starters are returning.”
Although there were a few losses to the team, Paly girls volleyball is extremely excited and confident to start the season, as they will be playing their first game against Branson on August 29th at home.
