Paly Water Polo was defeated by Los Altos 17-5 last Thursday at home.
The Viking’s started off strong with the opening goal, but Los Altos fought back by scoring 5 goals in a row.
Despite a missed penalty shot by senior Roan Haney, the Vikings were able to rally back by scoring 3 goals in a row. The score at half was 4-9 Los Altos.
The Vikings were unable to regain momentum in the second half for they only scored once, via junior Dylan Liao.
“We suffered a tough loss today against Los Alto, but we have a lot to take away from this,” Liao said. “Losing shows us our weaknesses and it also gives us a chance to redraw plays.”
The team hoped to bounce back in the upcoming tournament they had on Friday and Saturday.
“I think the team has a lot of room to improve, we were missing a lot of key players and needed to rest for the tournament this weekend,” junior Felix Ryans said. “When all of our players are healthy and back in the pool, we will definitely be able to win more games.”
The team went on to win 2 of the 4 games in the tournament. Their next home game is on September 19th against Mountain View.
