The Palo Alto Vikings lost to Los Gatos Friday, November 8. The game was a tough one for the team, as certain crucial players were out due to various injuries.
The Vikings knew that they had a difficult game ahead of them, as Gatos currently holds the second spot in the Peninsula-Bay league, but without these players, the team struggled even more. “The game was unfortunate,” junior and team captain Jake Wang said. “We had a lot of key players injured and we basically got dominated the whole game.”
However, as disappointing the outcome of the match may have been, the team was able to enjoy their senior night regardless.
“The senior day festivities were really nice, it was a great way to show our appreciation for all the seniors that have put in so much time and effort into the football program,” Wang said. “I especially liked when James sang the national anthem.”
The seniors provided great leadership for the team, including senior captains Joseph Kessler, Jeremiah Fung, Peyton Wehner, and Liam Giffen.
The team now finds themselves placed fifth in the league, with a home record of 1-3. Their next game is on Friday, November 15, facing Half Moon Bay at home.
