In their second to last league game, the Paly girls water polo team claimed a big win at home over nearby opponent Castilleja, with a final score of 19-8.
“This was a good win for us, we showed our skill and what we could when we worked together,” junior Delilah Kaplinsky said. “This was a great game to continue a good streak of games after a couple close losses earlier in the month, and we showed that our teamwork has been improving.”
The team has been regaining their momentum in the past few games after back to back losses in close overtime games. They have since been crushing every team, especially with the help of regaining players from injury.
“I think we have really improved on starting out with intensity in the first two quarters, which is something we struggled with in the beginning of the season,” junior Maeva Herbert-paz said.
This decisive win helped to lift spirits before facing strong competition in the NorCal Invitational, where they will play four neutral games in two days.
“Our scoring was on fire this game and we did great in our transitions to offense,” Kaplinsky said. “Hopefully we can continue this gameplay moving forward.”
