The Vikings football team lost against Burlingame 35-14 on Thursday, September fourth.
After the first loss of the season last Friday, the football team wanted to show up and play their best ball. The game started out quick, with two touchdowns from Burlingame. “After starting the game 0-14, our run game was not hitting as we expected,” senior Zeke Maples said. “We relied mostly on our quarterback, receivers and offensive line for protection to throw the ball.”
The Vikings bounced back with a couple scores and touchdowns. “We had many second-string and young underclassmen players starting who really stepped up and contributed to the team and gave us a chance to win, ” Maples said. “Ultimately, we did not come out with the result we wanted but we are a young team and are going to learn from our mistakes and step up for next week.”
The Vikings will continue to push and get better as a team as the season progresses. They will face off against Christopher (1-1) this Friday at 7:15.
