On September 11th, Paly boys water polo lost to the Pioneer Mustangs 16-9, their second game of the season. The Vikings are struggling to start their season off strong after ending their first game with a one-point loss last Wednesday. The team is short two players, but they still gave this game their all and have hopes of coming back from these losses.
“I think we performed well as a team and showed good promise and intensity,” Moksh Jain (‘27) said. “We will continue to get better as we get more and more back and shape, and become more confident as a team.
The team’s expectations and abilities have been lowered since they have two starters out due to injury. However, this brought more in-game opportunities to other players who stepped up in this game.
“I think we played really well today, we all believe this team can go really far if we stay consistent and make it through the earlier rounds of the season,” Felix Ryans (‘26) said. “And it showed today with our supporting players stepping up, our goalie Moksh had an outstanding performance today and really saved us on the defensive side of the ball.”
The Vikings will continue to fight through adversity and get stronger as a team. Their next game will be this Tuesday, September 16th, where they will take on the Los Gatos Wildcats (3-1) at 6:30.
