The Paly Vikings defeated Los Altos, 3–0, on Thursday, October 9th.
This victory marks another strong step toward the final stretch of a successful season for the Vikings. Although Los Altos entered the match with a competitive record, the Vikings stayed composed and disciplined, maintaining their focus and intensity from start to finish.
From the opening serve, Paly’s energy filled the Peery Center. Consistent communication and sharp execution gave the Vikings early control of the match, helping them take the first set 25–21. The second set highlighted the team’s rhythm and chemistry, as they found success with steady serves and strong defense to win 25–19.
“We came out confident and ready to play,” said junior Maura Hambly. “Everyone was really locked in, and we trusted each other to do our jobs. That focus made all the difference.”
In the third set, Los Altos fought to extend the game, but Paly held firm. With intense plays down the stretch, the Vikings closed out the sweep 25–23 to secure their second straight league win.
Sophomore Olivia Roper said the team’s effort reflected their growing connection on and off the court.
“We’ve really started to click as a group,” Roper said. “Everyone played with heart tonight. Wins like this show how much we’ve improved and how well we work together.”
The Vikings now look ahead to their next matchup against Mountain View, as they continue to build momentum in league play.
