Paly Girls Water Polo secured another decisive 19-3 win against Gunn on Tuesday, October 14th. This being their second Matchup of the season, the Vikings knew that they would have to dominate the pool if they wanted to keep their win streak alive.
As long standing rivals, the Vikings and Titans have faced each other for years in intensive competition, but the Paly girls Water Polo has only recently started to consistently triumph over the Gunn team.
“We played our rival school who for a span of 10 years, beat us consistently and now we are on the side of beating them and hopefully for the next few years we continue to beat them consistently,” sophomore Sloane Nagayma said.
From the opening whistle, the Vikings’ determination was evident as they secured their second win against their rivals this season.
“It’s always fun to play Gunn because they are cross town rivals,” junior Leilani Chen said. “I think with spirit week happening at the same time, there was a lot of good energy going on this week.”
With this momentum, the Vikings feel confident and energized going into their next couple of games, and progressing toward the end of the season where they will face more challenges in their final few games leading to CCS Playoffs.
