In a statement performance, the Paly boys water polo team earned an important victory over Hillsdale today in their opening match, with a final score of 19-4.
“I think we played pretty well, of course we have a lot of things to clean up but overall a good step forward.” junior Jack Spitzer said.
The team ended last season strong with a fifth place finish in league, and impressively secured second in CCS.
“We had some stand out performances from Jack Spitzer and Roan Haney, who played really well today,” junior Felix Ryans said.
The team came out with a really strong start in the first half, as they eased their way into a 10-1 lead at half time. In the second half, they weren’t quite as dominant, but still finished the team as the better team by far. As the team continues to improve and grow, Spitzer is hopeful that they can continue to win.
“I think the team is headed for future success because we are well bonded and everyone has the same goals in mind for being the best team we can be,” Spitzer said.
After this matchup, Paly will strive to grab another victory when they face Fremont away next Tuesday at 6 pm.
“I think our team is headed for a great season and will have outstanding performances at CCS,” Ryans said. “I hope that our program can make it to the state level and go all the way.”
