Paly flag football beat Homestead in a dominant win at home on Wednesday, 9/10. The final score was 33-6 in favor of the Vikings.
The team wanted to build on their first two wins by not getting complacent and remaining undefeated. The area of focus was offensively, after only putting up six points in a win against Monta Vista. “We played really well together as a team and individually on both sides of the ball,” senior Kailia Leming said. “The offense did really well. After the game against Monta Vista, [they] stepped up and played their part.”
Defensively, the Viking kept up the same level of pressure as they did in their shutout against Monta Vista. Homestead was only able to score six points. “Our defense kept forcing punts every drive,” freshman Tessa Payne said. My teammates and I had a hard time pulling flags because Homestead’s uniforms made their flags blend in really well, but ultimately we were able to keep our defense strong throughout the game and we kept them to only one touchdown.”
The Vikings look to keep the progression of their offense linear while continuing to be dominant defensively as they look ahead to Lynbrook.
