Paly lost their homecoming game on October 17th against Menlo School. With Menlo riding a six-game win streak going into the game, they did not let up, winning by 43 points.
“They were just way more physical and disciplined than us,” senior Malcom Phillips said. “If we wanted a shot at keeping the game close, we needed to play with a completely different level of intensity.”
While this was a tough loss for the Vikings, Menlo has established themselves as a great team this season, and the Vikings still have three games left on their schedule.
“When you play a team like this, you just have to respect the success that they’re having and move on,” senior Jake Wang said. “We play MA [Menlo-Atherton] next week, who didn’t do much better against Menlo, so that’s what our focus is on.”
The Vikings drop to 0-7 after this loss, with three games left on their schedule, and are hopeful to get a win on the board soon.
