Paly Baseball shut out Homestead High School 8-0 on Wednesday evening.
After a dominant series against Gunn last week, Paly came into this game with high energy. From the beginning, the team performed opn both defense and offense, and were able to keep up momentum the entire game to finish with a definitive win.
In the first inning, Paly quickly gained a 4-0 lead. Offensively, the bats were rolling, with three hits from junior Dexter Cleveringa and senior Charlie Bates.
“There was timely hitting, competitive pitching, and sharp defense, pair those things with great chemistry and you’re always going to get a positive result,” junior Joe Kessler said.
As the game progressed, Paly kept adding to their lead while shutting out Homestead. Paly pitchers Henry Harding (’25) and Cormac White (’25) threw a combined shutout, only allowing Homestead three hits the entire game. With their flawless defense, the team ended the game with zero errors.
‘The team attitude was really positive today,” Kessler said. “It was awesome to see the guys come together, and it was awesome to get Henry back out there after coming off of injury.”
Overall, the entire team was contributing to the win, and Paly hopes to keep up this gameplay in the upcoming weeks.
