The Vikings Boys Volleyball team defeated Kings Academy 3-1 on 4/16. They remain undefeated within league play.
This was the second of three scheduled matchups between the divisional opponents for this season.
“We had already played them, so we knew how to beat them,” sophomore Hiro Kenehan said, “No one in our league is better than us.”
The Vikings had swept the Kings Academy Knights in their prior matchup, meaning that they played worse from a scoring standpoint as they gave up a set.
The Vikings won the first set commandingly, scoring 25 opposed to the Knights 12.
“We knew we were the better team, and this set really proved that to us,” sophomore Tiam Maurstad said.
The Knights narrowly edged out the Vikings in the second set, beating the Vikings 25 to 23.
“After that first set, we took our foot off the gas,” Kenehan said “we underestimated them a bit.”
The Vikings won the final two sets with scores of 25-15 and 25-16, respectively.
Outside of tournaments, The Vikings have now won nine games in a row.
With prior knowledge of their opponent and a previous victory under their belt, the Vikings were equipped with the tools needed to rack up another win within their division, and came away successful.
