Paly Girls Lacrosse crushed Los Altos 20-8 on Wednesday, April 15th. The girls used this big win to continue their momentum to ride out the second half of their season.
“Our game against Los Altos went really well for us,” junior Tessa Chang said. “We played as a team and kept high energy throughout the game. We started the game off really strong which helped us pull ahead early. We had a strong win and good confidence.”
The girls have built a great understanding of what works for their team and what doesn’t. They use this knowledge to their advantage and set each other up for success rather than playing as an individual player.
“A big key in this win was our team chemistry and communication. We worked really well and we were trusting each other,” senior Keerthi Raj said.
The Vikings also noted a key component of their win was their team drive to win. This motivation helped them push when things got rocky.
“Our defense was a lot stronger and we agreed more aggressive. We just wanted the ball more,” Raj said. “We were going after all ground balls and each ball in the midfield trying to intercept passes.”
The Vikings took risks in this game to widen the gap in the scoreboard.
“We were not scared to take risks,” Raj said. “On attack especially, we were driving through multiple defenders and trying different shots like shooting high and shooting low.”
Overall, the Vikings used strategy and team chemistry to execute this big win!
