The Paly Varsity Softball team defeated Gunn 6-0 on Thursday, April 16th.
The Vikings now have a record of 12-3, following a 7-6 loss on Tuesday against Mountain View.
According to sophomore Sotary Cordova the team was able to remain extremely focused throughout the game.
“We hit really well that game and our defenses supported our pitcher so she could throw a no hitter,” Cordova said.
Looking forward, the team intends to continue their dominant season and make changes when needed.
“I think as a team collectively we should prepare for more defense as the teams we will play will only get stronger,” Cordova said. “We will definitely see more action on the field.”q
The Vikings have a strong freshman pitcher this year, Samantha Prabhu, who limits the amount of time the team focuses on defense. According to Cordova, the team is focused much more on their offense this year, as their defense is already extremely strong.
“Our hitting should improve at least 1% everyday,” Cordova said.
Overall, the Vikings have been having a very successful season so far, and look to carry that momentum into next week, when they play Monta Vista on Tuesday, April 21st.
