Paly Baseball suffered a tough 3-12 loss to Los Altos on Friday. The team went into the game with high hopes after losing to Los Altos a few days before.
In the first few innings, the vikings were able to stay in the game, with Los Altos only holding a 1-0 lead in the second inning. But, as the game progressed, the team struggled to maintain the score.
“We faced lots of challenges throughout the game, the starters were having a tough time rallying hits together to score runs and we did not score until the last inning of the game,” junior Henry Harding said.
By the 5th inning, Los Altos was able to put up 8 runs after Paly changed pitchers, giving them a runaway lead and sealing a 12-3 score.
“Additionally, the umpires strike zone was very small so our pitchers were having a tough time limiting the walks,” Harding said. “We just couldn’t execute when it came down to it.”
The team has been facing tough competition, and hopes to work on playing like themselves instead of playing too big of a game in the future.
