Paly baseball defeated Wilcox 8-3 on Thursday, April 8.
Looking to keep their momentum following back-to-back wins against Santa Clara, the Vikings came out with energy on both sides of the ball and found themselves up three runs entering the top of the 2nd inning. They set the tone early, putting together quality at-bats and capitalizing on scoring opportunities to gain control of the game.
“The team played hard throughout the entire game, and that’s what led to the win,” junior Justin Fung said. “We were consistent and didn’t let up at any point.”
Paly continued to apply pressure offensively while staying solid on defense, limiting Wilcox’s chances and maintaining their lead throughout the game.
“We’ve just got to keep bringing this same energy,” Fung said. “If we stay locked in and keep playing like how we played today, we’ll put ourselves in a good position.”
The Vikings will look to carry this momentum into their rematch against Wilcox in two days as they continue league play and aim to climb the standings.
