The Paly track and field team came away with a solid sixth-place finish at the Lynbrook Invitational on March 29, showcasing their depth and resilience despite facing stiff competition. The event, which featured 30 schools, saw strong performances across both boys’ and girls’ teams, with the boys’ squad finishing in the top 10 and the girls securing 16th place.
Leading the boys’ team, senior Jorell Clark was proud of the collective effort. “It wasn’t just about individual performances, but about how we came together as a team,” Clark said. “We faced some tough schools, but we held our ground. We know we have the talent, and this result proves we’re on the right track heading into the season.”
Clark was joined by senior Tristan Kippes, whose strategic positioning in the 800-meter race contributed significantly to the team’s standing. “It feels good to see the work we’ve put in during practice pay off,” Kippes said. “We’re definitely building momentum. I think this result shows we can hang with the best and gives us something to build on for the rest of the season.”
The girls’ team faced a more challenging field, finishing 16th overall. While the result wasn’t what they hoped for, there were bright spots in performances that showed potential for the rest of the season.
With a strong showing at the Lynbrook Invitational, Paly’s track team looks ahead to a promising season.
