Paly boys track and field secured a strong 4th place finish at the De Anza SCVAL Finals on May 1, earning 54.5 points out of the 8 competing schools. The boys showed great resilience and depth throughout the meet, with standout performances across several events, despite the tough competition.
Senior Jorell Clark led the team with impressive finishes in his individual events, contributing valuable points to the team’s score. “We fought hard today, and though we didn’t finish at the top, we gave everything we had,” Clark said. “This sets us up well for the next challenges. We’re building momentum for the postseason.”
Tristan Kippes also played a pivotal role, securing key points in the middle-distance races. “We have a lot of talent, and this result shows we can be competitive at the highest level,” Kippes said. His performance helped anchor the team’s position in the top half of the field.
While the boys’ team ultimately fell just short of a top-three finish, their overall performance highlighted their potential for the remainder of the season. “We’ve come a long way, but we’re not done yet,” Clark said. “We’ll take this result, learn from it, and keep pushing forward.”
The team’s effort in the De Anza SCVAL Finals gives them a solid foundation as they head into their next meets. Paly’s track and field team remains focused on refining their performances as they look to close out the season with even stronger results.
