Paly Girls Beat Lynbrook High School in their Basketball game on Saturday, ending off with a 45-28 win. In a comfortable victory in the Paly gym, the team was able to send Lynbrook packing during their first league game of the season.
It was an important win for the team to open the season with, led by important performances from Senior and Captain Camren Ogowa, as well as Sophomores Abigail Newmann and Mary Harmoni Jackson.
“This was our first league game for the season and we started off with a win!” Ogowa said. “It was definitely a boost to our confidence and it brought us together as a team.”
The game started close, with Paly and Lynbrook trading buckets until Paly was able to open a sizable lead near the end of the second quarter. Paly would ultimately be able to expand this lead, comfortably leading the rest of the game and ultimately claiming the victory.
“We started off slow in the beginning of the game,” Ogowa said. “But as we kept playing we became more vocal and came through with the win”.
Paly will next face Santa Clara at home, where they hope to continue their momentum and extend their three game win-streak deep into the regular season.
