Palo Alto girls basketball reinforced their dominant season with a 41-19 victory over Wilcox. Their 7-2 record mirrors the hard work that the girls have put in this season, placing them 3rd overall in the Santa Clara league.
According to junior Ella Hoy, the team worked hard to set the tone early, combining with eachother and keeping constant energy to push against the Wilcox team.
“We were playing really well in the first half and secured a good lead so that everyone could branch out and work on their skills in the second half and pulled away with the win,” Junior Ella Hoy said.
The team’s chemistry stood out throughout the game, specifically their communication and quick-thinking.
“It was a great game where we played with a lot of chemistry together,” junior Abby Neumann said.
Defensively, the Vikings were especially impressive, holding Wilcox to just 19 points. Communication, quick rotations, and consistent effort made it difficult for Wilcox to generate scoring opportunities.
With their momentum building, the Vikings now turn their attention to their upcoming matchup against Santa Clara on Wednesday night, this will prove to be one of Paly’s toughest challenges yet.
