Palo Alto Boys Basketball lost 41-71 to Milpitas on January 13th. The Vikings previous three game win streak went down in flames, as they suffered their biggest loss of the year.
The Vikings shot the ball surprisingly well considering they lost by 30, with a field goal percentage of 40.5%. The reason for the loss had to do with turnovers, as they turned the ball over on 34.3% of their trips on offense.
Additionally, the Vikings struggled to clean the glass, only tallying 21 rebounds as a team, with Milpitas outrebounding them by 11.
Junior Ben Laris led the way in the scoring department, tallying 12 points on 57% shooting from the field, and four three-pointers made on six attempts.
Junior Aadi Tripathi tallied three rebounds, two of those being offensive, and tacked on three assists in 18 minutes of action.
“As a team we really struggled with ball security, which gave them a lot of opportunities to score in transition,” Tripathi said, “I want to credit Milpitas, because they played a great game and capitalized on our turnovers.”
The Boys Basketball team now looks ahead to their next matchup against the Los Gatos Wildcats, in hopes of getting their season back on track.
