The boys varsity water polo took a tough back and forth loss against Harker 14-13. The vikings all fought hard and they just came short of coming out with the win.

The team started the game off strong with two quick goals putting the Vikings up early. Unfortunately, Harker responded and scored four goals straight and held the lead for the rest of the game. Jack Haney, a senior captain for the vikings, scored an impressive six goals to keep them in the game.

“I felt great, we did what we could, Harker was a well built team,” Haney said. “I think the crowd’s energy was really fantastic and that made the game great to be a part of.”

Despite the gut-wrenching loss, they still put up great effort and hope to bring strong energy in their game next week against Los Gatos.

“I’m actually really proud about how my guys played today,” said coach Bob Greene. “We will get better, I think we’re playing great right now but we’re gonna get even better.”
