The boys’ lacrosse team dominated the Leland chargers 17-2 at home on Wednesday.

The team dominated the first quarter making the score 7-0 with three minutes left in the quarter. Jackson Dahl (‘17) with the final goal of the quarter.

The Vikings started the second quarter off strong with a win off the face off by Chuck Stephenson (‘16). Right off the win Cole Tierney (‘16) put the ball in the back of the net followed by a goal by Dahl. The score was then 9-0 Vikings. The Vikings dominated the ball in the midfield which led to another sequence of goals from Tierney and Dahl making the score 11-0 with eight minutes left in the second quarter.

The end of the quarter consisted of a goal from Matthew Seligson (‘16) with seven minutes remaining. This followed by a goal from Dahl and Tierney. The Chargers got a steal from the Vikings and took it to the net making the score 14-1 to end the second quarter.

The third quarter starts off slow for the Vikings with a lose on the face off to the Chargers but they soon gain possession back. The first goal of the quarter was scored by Dahl. Ariya Momeny (‘16) scored with less than a minute left making the final score of the quarter 16-1.

The fourth quarter started off strong for the Viking with a win off the face off. The Chargers soon came back and stole the ball resulting in a goal making the score 16-2 with ten minutes left in the game. Alfredo Gonzalez (‘16) scored the final goal of the game for the Vikings with less than ten seconds left.

The final score of the game was 17-2 Vikings.

Head Coach DJ Shelton commented on the team’s performance.

“We played pretty well. Its always a challenge playing teams that are struggling in their season. I think the guys did a really good job staying focused for forty-eight minutes” Shelton said.

The boys lacrosse will play again this Friday at home.
