The Paly boys tennis team dominated Fremont last night, completing a 7-0 sweep.

The boys got off to a hot start in their first league game and kept that momentum throughout the match.

“We kept our foot on the gas the entire match even though we knew that they were a weaker opponent,” junior Watson Koegler said.

Despite not being at full strength, the players were able to persevere and secure a victory.

“We’ve had a few players missing, so it’ll be exciting when everybody returns, and we are back at full strength,” Yash Shetty (’23) said.

The team was able to put an emphasis on strong execution, focusing on just one matchup at a time.

“We played confident, executed very well, and were able to stay focused,” Koegler said.

The team advances to 1-0 in league play and is looking to keep up this momentum heading into their next match Thursday against Milpitas.

“We would like to keep the same momentum and energy going forward,” Shetty said. “Just [keep] staying diligent, focused, and playing our hardest each match until the last point.”
