The Palo Alto boys basketball team was victorious in its league matchup against Wilcox on Friday night at the Peery Center.

Great ball movement, outstanding transition offense, and solid team defense lead the team to a 74-43 win. On the night, three Vikings were in double figures including Spencer Rojahn (‘18), Bryant Jefferson (‘18), and Max Dorward (‘18). The league victory, according to MaxPreps, pushes the team to an 8-0 league record and 18-2 overall and they are now ranked as the 25th best team in all of California.

Defensive success for this years group has been apparent the entire season and is something they take pride in during their preparation.

“A lot of our success on defense has come from countless of hours practice and film,” Jackson said. “With a head coach and three great assistants coaches we take the best and most down to detail reps in practice. Everyday they push us to get one step faster in our defensive rotation, pressure, and intensity.”

In order for the team to continue to stay on the path they have created, it all comes down to trust and consistency.

“We just have to keep trusting our coaches and ourselves and keep doing all the things we’ve been doing to get to this point,” Jefferson said.

Paly will play its next game in a road matchup against league opponent Homestead on Wednesday, February 7 at 7:00 P.M.
