The Paly Girls Lacrosse team blasted Saratoga out of the water in a decisive victory. As the game got underway, Paly was quickly out to a lead. They scored their first goal in the opening minute to quickly throw Saratoga into defence mode.

Saratoga tried to shift the momentum by answering Paly’s opening goal. But right after that, a Paly shot back with three more goals all within the next 4 minutes of play. Ellen Goncher (‘18) had a big game scoring two of her three goals in early minutes.

The Vikings lost their last game to Los Gatos by a score of 16-5, so to come back against Saratoga and have a decisive victory was huge for the team’s morale.

“It was our first game coming back from team bonding, and I think our team clicked a lot better than we have in previous games. Therefore I think we played much better and we were a lot stronger as a whole. Also, we did not have our usual goalie, so we were forced to work much harder as a team,” Sydney Schwan (‘19) said.

Schwan was one of the players who had to fill in for Paly’s missing goalie, and she kept the Falcons to a 3 point game.

As the game played out, Paly had many players contribute to the score, as it was a true team win.

The Vikings look to keep the momentum going this Wednesday at Willow Glen.
