With a recent government order, the wrestling team is delighted to hear that there are steps being taken in order to give the players a season. After months of talk about whether or not wrestling will have a season, it looks like the season will finally begin on April 17.

The season will contain six in conference league duels. Currently, teams in Santa Clara County are not able to compete in the CIF Central Coast Section (CCS) tournament or play teams that are outside of their local leagues. Even without being able to compete in a CCS tournament, the members of the wrestling are ready to begin training for their season. The wrestling team’s practices begin next week, allowing them to have full contact indoors for the first time since their previous season last winter.

Senior and star wrestler Adar Schwarzbach ‘21 is excited to begin the long awaited season. Even though Schwarzbach is currently committed to wrestle at Duke, he still wanted to get the senior season that he has prayed for.

When asked about the upcoming season Schwarzbach said, “Although our numbers may be smaller this year due to the late start. I have a good feeling about how the season will go based on the reps our returns have gotten during the pandemic. I’m excited to go out there and dominate”.

Currently, there is still information up in the air, but when the season starts we will be covering all of the wrestling teams’ matches.
